Lagos Govt To Provide Food For Lagosians During Stay-At-Home

The Lagos State government has said that it would cushion the effect of the state -at-home order in the state by providing raw foods to Lagosians, including bread, drinking water and vitamins.

The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu disclosed this in a tweet on Friday.

Recall that the Lagos State House of Assembly had passed a law on Thursday,which sought to arrest violators of the stay at home order of the government, in view of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The bill sparked online criticisms, with residents calling on the government to provide support for the people.

The governor said that the first stage of the economic stimulus package would target 200,000 households, also making available rice, beans, garri and dry pepper.

He urged residents to stay at home, while the government would do its best to curb the spread of the virus.
