Nami had recently sacked all the tax consultants hired by his predecessor, Babatunde Fowler, and opened about 25 field offices nationwide to enhance the agency’s operations.

The FIRS boss had recently  noted, in  a frank assessment of his predecessor, that ,” despite the rise in the Service workforce, the engagement of consultants, the rise in inflation and the exchange rates, the tax revenue collection  continued to dwindle.”

Sources close to the FIRS told THE WHISTLER that some of the directors sacked, “were no longer contributing to the growth of the agency.”

An online medium had reported that the board of the FIRS had sacked all the directors who had served for eight years and above in the agency.
