NCDC To Begin Weekly Announcement Of Coronavirus Tests

The Nigerian Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) has said it would begin announcement of the number of Coronavirus tests being conducted in the country.

The announcement would start tomorrow Friday.

The Director-General of the NCDC, Chikwe Ihekweazu, said this on Thursday during the Presidential Taskforce briefing.

According to him, every Friday by 6pm, “we will announce the number of tests we have done.”

He however urged Nigerians not to stigmatize COVID-19 patients.

“If we stigmatise patients, people will choose not to be tested and the virus might go unchecked and this lockdown will continue.”
