No Fuel Scarcity Till End Of The Year- Baru

Dr. Maikanti Baru, the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has assured motorists of constant supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) throughout the rest of 2017.

Baru said this during his inauguration as Honourary Special Marshal by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The NNPC GMD revealed that the corporation had stocked over 2billion litres of PMS that would allow for hitch-free end of year movement of motorists.

Baru said the NNPC had put adequate measures in place to ensure that motorists have unhindered access to fuel even during the festive period.

He also assured of NNPC’s unwavering support for the FRSC in its endeavours of ensuring safer and better Nigerian roads.

“As we speak, NNPC has over two billion litres of petrol and we want to sustain this level from now on till the end of the year and beyond. This volume would give the country product sufficiency of about 60 days, well above the standard 30 days sufficiency threshold,’’ Baru said.

In her remarks, Deputy Corps Marshal in charge of Operations, Ojeme Ewhrudjakpor, thanked the NNPC for its support towards the Corps.

Ewhrudjakpor implored citizens to be abiding to road safety laws.
