NYSC: Your Service Will Complement Our Development Efforts – Ganduje Tells Corps Members

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has assured members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployed to the state of adequate security during their one-year national service.

Ganduje, who gave the assurance on Thursday during the swearing-in ceremony of  2046 corps members for 2020 Batch “A” stream 1 orientation course held at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Kusala dam, Karaye.

The governor also appealed to them to serve the state with utmost seriousness, saying that their service would complement the developmental policies of his government.

He said: “you should be prepared to serve our fatherland in Kano state with your utmost ability. Your service will complement our efforts as government to accelerate our policies and programmes in agriculture, education, infrastructure, rural healthcare delivery.

“On our part, we have resolved to ensure your security and welfare throughout your national service in Kano,” he concluded.

He urged them to be guided by the sense of duty and discipline that saw them through successfully with their various academic programmes.

Earlier, State Coordinator of NYSC, Hajiya Aisha Tata Mohammed, urged the state government to assist the corps members, through expansion of the orientation camp from 2,500 capacity to 5,000 capacity to enable the service deploy corps members to every nook and crannies of the 44 local government areas in the state.

Hajiya Tata Mohammed commended the state government for all its support towards the NYSC, especially the prompt measures taken to prevent coronavirus and other related diseases in the 2020 Batch “A” orientation camp .

The 2046 corps members comprise 1018 males and 1028 females.
