Osinbajo Signs 3 Executive Orders

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has signed three executive orders.

Osinbajo, on Thursday, singed “the promotion of transparency and efficiency in the business environment, designed to facilitate ease of doing business in Nigeria; support for local content in public procurement by the government, and timely submission of annual budgetary estimates by all statutory and non-statutory agencies,” orders.

Osinbajo’s exercise of presidential authority comes amid conflicting statements as to whether or not the Acting President will assent to the 2017 budget.

Recall that Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information, had said the presidency was yet to decide on who should sign the budget between President Muhammadu Buhari and the Acting President.

But Osinbajo’s media aide, Laolu Akande, in response to Mohammed’s statement, said the Acting President will assent the budget when he’s satisfied with it.

Whereas the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to President Buhari on National Assembly Matters, Ita Enang said, in an interview with Channels TV, that the president who is currently in the UK on medical vacation,would sign the 2017 Appropriation Bill.
