PDP Sues INEC Over Failed Recall Of APC Senator

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kogi State chapter, has picked holes in the failed recall process of Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Kogi PDP is set to drag INEC to court regarding the names and signatures of its members on the petition for Senator Melaye’s recall, which the party said were largely forged.

The senatorial chairman of the Kogi West PDP, Mr Taiwo Kola-Ojo, in a communiqué issued to newsmen, said INEC must be made to account for how the names and signatures of its members made it to the petition.

The Kogi West PDP expressed fear that the electoral body may have used Senator Melaye’s failed recall to test its grand scheme to rig the 2019 general elections in the region.

The party, therefore, wants those involved in the “forgery” of its members’ signatures to have their day in court as it suspects that the electoral body may have had foreknowledge of the manipulations in voters’ data in their database.
