Twitter Users Can Now Report Multiple Abusive Tweets Concurrently

The company now allows users to clump a number of tweets together, and file a report on all those tweets at once. This also prevents the twitter staff from handling longer queues of reports, if users have reported multiple abusive tweets multiple times. There is now a shorter time required for Twitter to respond to abusive tweets.

According to the San Francisco California based company, the move is to protect its users from abuse and harassment that has become very usual on the platform.

“This update makes it easier for you to provide us with more information about the extent of abuse and reduces the time it takes to do so,” wrote Hao Tang in a blog post. “That added context often helps us investigate issues and get them resolved faster.

“We want everyone on Twitter to feel safe expressing themselves. Behaviour that crosses the line into abuse is against our rules and we want it to be easy for you to report it to us. So, we’re introducing an improvement to our reporting process: the ability to attach multiple Tweets to a single report.

“We have more improvements coming that will give you even more control over your experience and look forward to sharing those updates soon. For more information on our current tools, policies, and processes, head over to our safety centre,” Tang posted.

The update will make investigations faster and safety team members will no longer have to scour a user’s profile for abusive Tweets if just one is reported, and users will no longer have to send multiple reports that fill up the queues and may even end up handled by different members of staff.

The new change will be rolled out on iOS, Android and on the website. Users worldwide are expected to get access to the feature in the coming weeks.
