UK Coronavirus Death Toll Crosses 32,000, Highest In Europe

The UK now has the highest number of Coronavirus deaths in Europe and the second highest in the world, according to new figures.

The new official figure revealed that more than 32,000 people have died from the virus.

As of April 24, the Office for National Statistics said 29,648 deaths had taken place in England and Wales with COVID-19 mentioned in death certificates.

According to Reuters, Scotland and Northern Ireland recorded additional deaths which increased UK’s death toll to 32,313.

This figure is however higher than the death toll of 29,029 in Italy which until now has been Europe’s worst-hit country.

Meanwhile 252, 442 deaths have been recorded so far globally.
