Why Enugu Rangers Are Winning Trophies —Barr Ugwuarua

Comprehensive insurance policies for players and officials of Rangers International Football Club of Enugu has kept the club ahead of other teams in the Nigerian Professional League, says Ferdinand Emeka Ugwuarua, secretary, Rangers Management Corporation.

Mr Ugwuarua, a lawyer, also told THE WHISTLER, Tuesday, that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s ‘merit-based appointments brought in the Davidson Owumi-led management to keep the dreams of the founding fathers of the Igbo nation in Rangers’.

He said, “The condition to play in the premier league is for clubs to have a functional insurance policy. The governor graciously approved comprehensive insurance premiums for the players and officials as seen in the case of our late player, Ifeanyi George.

“Part of the achievements of Gov Ugwuanyi is his footprints in Rangers International. For over three decades before 2018, Rangers did not lift any trophy.

“He is the first governor to lift both FA Cup and the league in one tenure. Rangers, from 2016/2017 season; 2017/2018 season, and 2018/2019 through 2020 have been on the continent.

“The camp of the players has state-of-the-arts training and medical facilities. The players have never been owed under this dispensation. That must have motivated their performances.
