Zulum Fulfils Promise, Presents N20m Cheque To Widow Of Colonel Killed By Boko Haram

Less than 24 hours after he made the promise, Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, on Wednesday, presented a cheque of N20million to the widow of the late Colonel Dahiri Chiroma Bako, who was killed in an ambush by Boko Haram terrorists.

Zulum had during the burial of late Bako on Tuesday, promised to provide a house and the sum of N20m to the widow and family of the deceased.

The governor also announced the donation of N2m each to the families of three soldiers that died along with Bako.

“I was made aware that three other soldiers also lost their lives along with Col. Bako. Therefore, I have made the donation of N2m each to their families.” Zulum said.

Bako died at a military hospital in Maiduguri on Monday, from injuries he sustained after the insurgents ambushed his convoy on Sunday.

He was until his death, the Commander of 25 Task Force Brigade of Operation Lafiya Dole in charge of Damboa and the surrounding axis in southern Borno.
