Army Arrests Soldiers For Flogging Lady, Shaving Youths’ Heads In Ibadan

The Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Seun Fakorede, has disclosed that the Nigerian Army has arrested soldiers who were caught flogging a woman for an offence they considered ‘indecent dressing.’

The soldiers also shaved the hair of some youths for ‘wearing improper hairstyles.’

The soldiers were reporteldly caught maltreating the civilians while they were deployed in Ibadan to curb the violence which trailed the #EndSARS protests

The commissioner disclosed the arrest of the soldiers In a series of tweets on his Twitter handle on Monday.

Fakorede said residents of the state should go about their lawful activities without fear, saying the situation would not be allowed to be swept under the carpet.

He tweeted, “My ears are full of news of the unlawful activities of some soldiers of the Nigerian Army, over the weekend.

“I have immediately reached out to the Commandant of the Operation Burst and I’ve been assured that the men involved in this distasteful operation have been arrested and taken to the barracks — they will be dealt with accordingly. This will not repeat itself again in Oyo State.

“Please, kindly go about your daily business and activities without fear. Thank you.”

The video where the soldiers were filmed chanting EndSARS has since gone viral.
