Europa League: United Suffers Defeat In Denmark
Manchester United suffered one of the most humiliating defeats in European history, as the Red Devils
lost to Danish champions Midtjylland in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Nigerian youngster Ebere Onuachu struck the winner as the home-side sealed a shock 2-1 victory over Louis Van gaal’s side to pile more pressure on the Dutchman.
Memphis Depay – who replaced the injured Wayne Rooney – gave United the lead in the 37th minute, before Pione Sisto equalized just before the break to ensure Midtjylland were level at halftime.

The visitors were punished in the 77th minute, when Onuachu drilled a low shot past goalkeeper Sergio Romero to ensure the host would have the upper hand in the tie ahead of the second leg at Old Trafford.
“I think I expected more from them but we gave them what they didn’t expect,” Onuachu told BT Sport. “We gave our best and got the result.”
“I’m looking forward to the return leg, hopefully we’re going to get something,” the forward added.
“We’ve come out as the Danish champions, we beat Southampton and we’ll give it our best against United. Hopefully we will [win], we just have to be positive. It won’t be easy but we’ll give our best.”

Fresh from the humiliating defeat, Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal Admitted the club’s supporters were right to abuse the players.
Speaking after the match, the 64-year old said: “The fans can criticize.
“When you see the second half, then maybe they are right. We have to improve and then maybe the fans shall support us again. We have seen that in the 18 months I have been here.”
