Gov Uzodinma Sacks Aides

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has sacked all his special advisers and senior special assistants.

The state’s Commissioner for Information, Declan Emelumba, disclosed this while speaking with journalist in Owerri on Friday.

Emelumba hinged the governor’s action on the need to rejig the government to function effectively.

The commissioner said the decision was reached at a meeting presided over by the governor.

Uzodinma also approved the establishment of a performance review commission to appraise the performance and structure of his government, said the commissioner.

“So, following that, the entire Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants [were sacked] today,” Emelumba said, adding that the governor would appoint new aides after a review.

This development is coming barely a month after the governor sacked his commissioners, sparing only eight.
