Iheanacho Included In Manchester City’s Squad For Pre-Season Tour

Contrary to reports which made the rounds yesterday, Nigerian international Kelechi Iheanacho has been included in Manchester City’s squad for the pre-season tour of Germany and China.

The English club announced its 34-man squad for the trip on Wednesday as the Citizens prepare to face Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and rival, Manchester United.

Recall, that reports emerged on Tuesday that the 19-year-old was left out of the team due to visa issues.

The Nigeria striker joins a host of senior players like Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Joe Hart and Vincent Kompany, Nicolas Otamendi, Raheem Sterling and new signing Nolito

Others are Kolarov, Fernando, Fernandinho, Yaya Toure, Willy Caballero, Jesus Navas, Fabian Delph, Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, Pablo Zabaleta, Jason Denayer, who has spent the last two years on loan and new boy Alex Zinchenko.

Another Nigerian, Tosin Adarabioyo was part of the 10 younger squad members, whom were also included by manager, Pep Guardiola.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach will have the opportunity to take a closer look at the emerging talents.

However, the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Bacary Sagna and Eliaquim Mangala’s extended involvement at Euro 2016 means they are yet to return from their summer break and another new recruit, Ilkay Gundogan is still several weeks away from being available.
They will begin their tour with a friendly game against German outfit, Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

They play Manchester United in Beijing next Monday and Borussia Dortmund in Shenzen the following Thursday.
