#IStandWithBuhari Coordinator Blasts Group, Withdraws From Counter-Protest Against 2Face
The National Coordinator of ‘I Stand With Buhari’ support group, Maryam Shettima, has withdrawn from a planned counter-protest against the 2Face Idibia-led march, after which she denounced her membership of the group.
Shettima, who put the group on blast in a Facebook post, further questioned the credibility of the group.
Shettima alleged that the group might be using their affiliation with the president for personal gains rather than for the interest of Nigerians.

“Credibility has always been a question there. What are they really up to?” she queried.
“A lot has happened since my emergence as the National Acting Coordinator of the above group.
“I feel it is time however to break my lengthy dignified silence on it in response to the torrents of inbox messages and calls I get concerning an upcoming counter rally in support of Mr President.
“To set the record straight, I wish to categorically state that I am neither aware of a counter rally organised by the group coming up in support of Mr President nor would I be supportive or part of it.

Her denouncement subsequently prompted the group to reply Shettima on their Facebook page.
The group said of Shettimas’s allegations: “This is to inform the general public that Maryam Shetty is not the National Coordinator of #iStandWithBuhari, and does not in any way speak for/on behalf of the movement, officially or unofficially.”
But Shettima went further in separate post to say: “The recent rebuttal to my post dissociating myself from the purported “counter rally” just made me realize against my sense of judgment, I was surrounded with petty elements whose approach to issues is without depth and never intellectual or deeply thought out.
“I am therefore, of utmost position that the group came up with this desperate move, not as an exhibition of support for Mr. President, but create chaos and thereby forcing relevant authorities left with no choice than to cancel both protests! How conniving!
“In light of the recent position of the group, I will once again dissociate myself from the group and go steps further by dissociating myself from the group and its future activities,” she said.
