Let’s Show Love To The Poor At Christmas – Odey

Former Senator, who represented Cross River North Senatorial District, Mr Stephen Odey, has charged Christians to use the occasion of Christmas to put smiles on the faces of the poor.

Odey, who served as Universal Education Board Chairman, said in his Christmas message signed by him that the occasion of the birth of Christ should afford Christians the opportunity to promote love, peace and unity in the society.

Odey calls on Christians to emulate the life of Jesus, who though is God, humbled himself to come in human form in order to liberate mankind from the shackles of perpetual damnation.

He added that leaders should learn from Jesus and be willing to make sacrifices for the sake of others.

“I hope this season fills you with faith, renewed hope and good health that will last you a lifetime,” he said.

“Remember to show love to the less privileged ones, set those in captives free, feed the hungry, visit the sick and the imprisoned.”

The former senator used the occasion to kick off the celebration with the distribution of motor bikes and other things to empower his ward in Yache, as a way of putting smiles on the faces of people.
