Newly Elected LG Chairman In Kano Dies After Driving Himself To Hospital

Barely 48 hours after he was announced winner of the Bebeji Local Government Chairmanship election, Hon Ali Nnamandi, aged 57,,has been confirmed dead by doctors after driving himself to the hospital.

He was said to have died of high blood pressure on Tuesday.

According to a statement signed by the All Progressives Congress Publicity Committee Chairman in Bebeji, Hon Ibrahim Adamu Tiga, on Tuesday in Kano, the newly elected chairman died after suffering from high blood pressure.

He said Nnamandi died about 1am on Tuesday.

He however disclosed in the statement that late Nnamandi drove himself to the nearest hospital at the local government area,but was later confirmed dead after a brief illness suspected to be high blood pressure

Tiga confirmed that late Nnamandi would be buried on Tuesday according to Islamic rites ,at his residence in Bebeji.

It would be recalled that late Nnamandi was elected local government chairman of Bebeji local government council in the just concluded local government election held last Saturday

He won the election on the platform of APC as announced by the KANSIEC Chairman, Professor Garba Ibrshim Sheka.
