Presidency Congratulates Nigerians As Buhari ‘Accepts’ To Run In 2019
Nigerians have been congratulated over President Muhammadu Buhari’s acceptance to continue to serve them beyond his first tenure which expires in 2019.
President Buhari had, at a meeting of the National Executive Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday, declared his intention to seek re-election into office at the next presidential poll.
Mallam Garba Shehu, the president’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, ha said his principal’s decision to run was hinged on “the clamour by Nigerians to re-contest in 2019”.
Congratulating Nigerians, however, was Buhari’ social media aide, Lauretta Onochie, who said in a tweet that the president heeded African’s and the citizens’ call to re-contest.
