PSG Knock Out RB Leipzig, Secure Champions League Final

The rollercoaster journey of German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig in this seasons UEFA Champions League came to an end as Paris Saint-Germain knocked them out 3-0 to reach the finals on Tuesday night.

This is a historic feat for the Thomas Tuchel’s side as this is their first Champions League final.

PSG were the bookies favorite and they proved that with a menacing frontline trio of Neymar, Mbappe and Di Maria who provided enough powerful force to run down Leipzig.

PSG, who required a late come back goals against Atalanta, wasted no time as a fine flick from Argentine winger Angel Di Maria was enough for Marquinhos to head in on the far right corner of the post.

Di Maria doubled the lead minutes before half time from Peter Gulacsi error.

The third goal was also an assist from the man of the match Di Maria as he crossed the ball for Juan Bernat to seal the victory.

While speaking to the BBC, Di Maria was impressed with his team’s play, and recognized the historical feat the victory has given them.

“We ate them up from minute one.
“It’s going to be tough to sleep between now and the final.

“We worked hard all game and we showed we deserve to be here. It doesn’t matter who we face, either Bayern or Lyon, we’ll give our all.

“We’re very happy. It’s a first for the club. We worked hard and played a great game. We want to make history for the club. We succeeded tonight and we’re in the final – that’s very important. We have to continue like tonight to make our dream come true.”

PSG will play against the winner between favorite,Bayern Munich, and Lyon in the finals.
