The security aides were also withdrawn from the Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and Deputy Speaker Yusuf Lasun.

The development follows a meeting the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo held with the Inspector- General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, the Director- General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Lawal Daura and the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Malami Abubakar.

It was learnt that the meeting might have been connected to the police invitation of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, over the Offa bank robbery.

The incident also follows the former new Peoples Democratic Party’s withdrawal from talks with the presidency over Saraki’s ordeal, amongst other reasons.
