I Want To Deliver Nations Cup Trophy To Nigerians- Osimhen

African football king, Victor Osimhen has revealed that he is ready to do everything in his power to bring the 2023 Nations Cup trophy to Nigeria.

The Napoli forward produced an impressive performance to lead the Super Eagles to a 2-0 win over Cameroon, which sealed their place in the quarter finals of the competition.

Osimhen has scored just once in the competition, the equaliser against Equatorial Guinea in the group stage.

But his relentless pressing and tireless running has caused problems for the opposition in the competition.

He played a pivotal role against Cameroon after taking advantage of Christopher Wooh’s slip to set up Ademola Lookman for the opening goal.

The African footballer of the year has opened up on his dream of leading the team to glory in Ivory Coast.

Osimhen said: “I want to win something with this great squad.

“I want to give Nigeria something that they will remember. I’m giving everything to come home with the [AFCON] trophy.”

Osimhen also believes that the best is yet to come and the players are ready to give their all to achieve the purpose of lifting the trophy.

Osimhen added, “I cannot lie, we haven’t played the best of our football yet but to be honest, all of us, the whole team, we have this mentality of winning,”

“We want to win; we want to help each other, and for me, we are more of a family than just players. So, it’s important to have this mentality to make sure we win every game but with respect to our opponent as well. We are really happy about this win, and we want to keep the momentum going.”

To achieve his dream, Osimhen will be hoping to find the net when the Super Eagles take on Angola in the quarter-finals of the competition on Friday.
