JUST IN: Another Petrol Tanker Explodes In Lagos

Barely one week after two petrol tankers exploded at Anthony inward Gbagada within a space of 24 hours, another fuel-laden tanker has exploded at the popular Cele Bus Stop in Lagos State.

The explosion was confirmed in a tweet by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

LASEMA quoted its Director-General, Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, as saying that efforts were ongoing to rescue the situation.

“The Agency has activated its response plan to the fire incident at Cele Bus Stop, Ifako-Ijaiye LGA and will provide further updates. Lagosians are urged to kindly exercise calm,” Oke-Osanyintolu said.

Meanwhile, the incident is coming barely 24 hours after 23 people, including 7 children, were killed after a petrol tanker exploded at the Felele area of Lokoja in Kogi State.
