As S’Court Sets To Deliver Judgment

The Supreme Court will on Monday (Monday), deliver judgment on the application filed against the victory of Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello.

The separate appeals to be considered are from the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Musa Wada, and Natasha Akpotti of the Social Democratic Party.

A seven-man panel led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad, had on Tuesday adjourned till August 31, after hearing the appeals and striking out one by the Democratic Peoples Party.

THE WHISTLER had earlier reported that the Abuja Division of the Appeal Court had on July 4,2020 , affirmed Yahaya Bello as the winner of the November 16, 2019 Kogi gubernatorial elections.

The separate appeals that were filed at the Appeal Court were by four parties, namely: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Social Democratic Party, Democratic People’s Party and Actions Peoples Party.

But the Justice Adamu Jauro led Appeal Court panel, dismissed the applications for lacking in merit.
