Tanker Explodes In Anambra Mechanic Workshop

A fire explosion from a tanker parked inside a mechanic workshop at Amawbia bypass, Awka, Anambra state has sent residents panicky.

The  Anambra State Police Command spokesman , Haruna Mohammed disclosed this on Tuesday.

The police urged residents to avoid the premises in order not to escalate the damage, adding that the fire was intense.

 “Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police Police CP John B.Abang, fdc has visited the scene and Police patrol teams have cordoned off the Area,” the statement said.

Furthermore, pictures from the incident at Anambra Broadcasting Service, showed a person burnt by the inferno.

Recall that numerous shops as well as goods worth millions of naira were burnt by fire on Saturday, at the Mbuka Obosi Market of Idemili local government area of Anambra state.  

The extent of the damage is not yet known.
